Bromelain
An extract of the pineapple plant, bromelain has been found to have anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain killing) properties and is well known for it's benefits as a digestive aid. Bromelain also enhances the body's ability to absorb Gout-Relief's other ingredients.

Potential Side Effects
 People with allergies to pineapples should avoid bromelain. Allergic reactions may also occur in people with allergies to latex, carrot, celery, fennel, rye, wheat, papain, bee venom or grass, birch or cypress pollens.

People with peptic ulcers should not use bromelain. People with other digestive disorders should consult a qualified healthcare professional before using bromelain.

Interactions
People taking "blood-thinners" (anticoagulant or anti-platelet medication), such as aspirin, warfarin (Coumadin), heparin, clopidogrel (Plavix), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), naproxen (Naprosyn, Aleve) should only use bromelain under a physician's supervision.

Pregnancy/nursing
Information regarding safety and efficacy in pregnancy and lactation is lacking.

Celery seed has been used in traditional medicine for centuries as a treatment for gout, kidney stones, and other kidney disorders. Well known as a liver tonic and for it's anti-inflammatory benefits, studies have also shown that 3-n-butylpthalide, a compound found in celery, can lower the synthesis of uric acid by reducing the enzyme xanthine oxidase.

White Willow Bark

White willow bark contains salicin, a compound chemically similar to aspirin. Mentioned in ancient Egyptian and Greek manuscripts, physicians such as Galen, Hippocrates and Dioscorides are believed to have prescribed white willow bark for pain.

    I wanted to let you know that I am well pleased with the gout-relief product. I was still suffering from an attack when I began using the formula.
